My good friend has started her own fashion blog, Style the Day. Each day she will show you what she is wearing. I’ve known her for 15 years – she has never let me down with her personal style. This lady needs to get into styling.

I forgot to mention

My husband’s ad agency has a spiffy new website. You should take a look at it. Bravo Tango has some stellar work.

I’ve been on vacation

I went to Vancouver to visit some friends for a few days. I’ll try and keep up with this old blog again once I have a moment of spare time. Until then, check out the photos from my trip.

Vintage design find of the month

I’m constantly finding low priced vintage items on Last week was no exception. I’ve been in search of a used turntable for some time, and to my surprise, this beauty popped up in the lastest ads:

It’s a vintage 1970 Electrohome Saturn 861 turntable. I quickly drove over to the owner’s house when they accepted my offer. Miraculously, there wasn’t a scratch on it – and it came with all the original elements, which quickly learned was rare.

I did some research and found out it is a Canadian design and the table top version exists in the permanent collection at the Canadian Design Exchange in Toronto. I love the simplicity of the floor model with it’s Saarinen inspired base.

Most importantly, it sounds great. The first album we played was The Who – Who’s next.

I love stuff

I have been waiting and waiting for someone to come up with typographic cookie cutters that were worth using. Hats off to Fred for coming up with Letterpress Cookie Cutter/Stamps.
